Hurghada, the Fishing Town of Egypt
 | | Beautiful natural sand beaches in Hurghada |
Hurghada, originally a small fishing village, is also the capital of the Red Sea Governorate where most central administrations and facilities reside.
Hurghada in Wikipedia.com:
Hurghada is a city in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt. It is a tourist center located on the Red Sea coast.
The city was founded in the early 20th century, and since the 1980s has been continually enlarged by Egyptian and foreign investors to become the leading seashore resort on the Red Sea. Holiday villages and hotels provide aquatic sport facilities for sailboarders, yachtsmen, scuba divers and snorkelers.
Hurghada stretches for about 36 kilometres (22 mi) along the seashore, and it does not reach far into the surrounding desert. The resort is a destination for Egyptian tourists from Cairo, the Delta and Upper Egypt, as well as package holiday tourists from Europe, notably Italians, Russians, Czechs and Germans. Until a few years ago it was a small fishing village. Today Hurghada counts 248,000 inhabitants and is divided into three parts: Downtown (El Dahar) is the old part; Sekalla is the modern part, and El Korra Road is the most modern part. Sakkala is the relatively modest hotel quarter. Dahar is where the town's largest bazaar, the post office and the long-distance bus station are situated.

Red Sea Fishing in Egyptfishing.com:
"Nothing compares to fishing the Red Sea" say pros and amateurs who try it!
Although not considered a big game fishing water body, the Red Sea is "active" almost year round, making it one of the most interesting fishing destinations on earth; especially if compared to other, more "seasonal" destinations. Probably relative calmness, diversity of species, rich bottom structures, and the warm climate contribute to this.
Red Sea and Gulf of Suez fishing trips range from day charters to 7d/7n non-stop safaris. Longer time not only means more time to enjoy fishing and better chances to catch, but also possibility to reach remote and more rewarding fishing spots.
Depending on take-off point (e.g., Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, or Gulf of Suez,) some good fishing spots may be as close as 2 hours or as far as 6 hours from the marina. Ideal bottom structures in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez make trolling on the way in and out rewarding in many cases. In addition, boats troll specific spots (such as drop-offs, and reefs) at the best two time of fishing--early morning and late afternoon.
